Day 4: Drive to village Takmachik and settle into the village.
Day 5: Trek to Takmachik monastery and experience local sightseeing
Day 6: Live life like a local in the village.
Day 7: Interaction with local artisans (shawl weaving, yarn making).
Day 8: Drive to Alchi and explore Lamayuru. Overnight at a homestay in Alchi.
Day 9: Return to Leh and spend you day visiting the local market.

Day 1 : Arrive at Leh
Fly into Leh. A flight where you marvel at the snow clad Himalayas and Ladakh valley. Spend the day acclimatizing and getting set for your adventure. Please rest this day and use this day for getting used to the high altitude.
Day 2: Let's get Leh'd!
Today we will spend the day visiting the local sights of the Leh city. You will visit The Hall Of Fame Museum, the Shanti Stupa, Spituk Gompa and a lot more!!! Visit the famous Shey Palace, Thikse monastery and marvel at the spectacular landscape!
Day 3: Local Leh Sightseeing
Get ready to see more of Leh, Visit the famous Shey Palace, Thikse monastery and marvel at the spectacular landscape!
Day 4: Drive to village Takmachik
Pack your bags as of today we will drive to our village which will be our homestay for the next few days. En route, we will Drive past the famous Magnetic hill where objects and cars on the hill may appear to roll “uphill” in defiance of gravity when they are, in fact, rolling downhill, witness the gravity defying action and also be marveled at the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar.
Takmachik is situated in the banks of river Indus it is 115 kms journey. Altitude is 2940 meters approx above sea level. Enjoy the splendid scenery with the meandering Indus en route and receive a warm welcome by your local host family, the village practices organic farming and encourages eco tourism.
Day 5: Trek to the Takmachik monastery
The Takmachik monastery is a branch of the Lamayuru monastery . The monastery boasts of a 11 foot sculpture of 1000 armed Avalokitesvara, 7 feet sculptures of lord Buddha and Padmasambhava. Trek uphill to Hamer temple which is situated 4 kms up in the inner valley at the sloppy face of the beautiful mountain. Spend the day meditating with the monks and enjoying the beauty and peace of the place.
Day 6: Live life like a local
The village provides a perfect opportunity for a tourist to gain acquaintance and familiarity with the traditional systems of agriculture. Spend the day at the village learning the nuances of organic farming. Visit the local seed bank and dig your teeth into some succulent organic dried fruit. Enjoy a cultural evening with local song and dance. Dine in a traditional Ladakhi kitchen with a local family.
Day 7: Fabric making and weaving
Spend the day learning traditional fabric and yarn making. Learn how to cook local Ladakhi dishes from experts at a customized culinary tour. Learn traditional ways of fabric manufacturing, right from spinning of yarn from goat wool to local shoe making, pottery and wood work.
Day 8: Drive to Lamayuru and Alchi
We will drive further inroad into the pristine moonscape of Lamayuru. Marvel at the beautiful monastery
here that is carved from the rocks and get an experience of “moonland”!
Spend the night at Alchi at a homestay with a local Ladakhi family.
Day 9: The last night at Leh
We will return to Leh today and you will be spending your day visiting the local market, shopping for souvenirs or just walking by the Indus and marveling at the sunset and looking at the star filled night sky of Ladakh for the last time.
Day 10: Au Revoir Ladakh
Sadly it’s time to leave Ladakh, but we hope that you are leaving with memories to last you a lifetime and with a yearning to come back once again! The transport will be provided for the airport.
